🎁 My Christmas Wishlist · The important bits

Terms of Service

A little housekeeping to help everyone create, share and enjoy Christmas wishlists while keeping the surprise alive.

Effective date: 12 October 2026

Welcome to My Christmas Wishlist. Please read these terms before creating an account or using the website. They explain what the service does, what it doesn't do, and the responsibilities we each have.

1. About us

My Christmas Wishlist (the β€œService”) is operated by Think of Something Publishing Ltd (β€œwe”, β€œus” or β€œour”). The website is www.mychristmaswishlist.co.uk.

2. Using the service

The Service helps people create and share gift wishlists and allows other people to indicate that they intend to obtain particular gifts. Creating an account, accessing a wishlist or using the Service means you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The core wishlist and reservation features are currently offered free of charge. If we introduce paid features in future, we will explain their price and terms before you choose to purchase them.

3. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably up to date. Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect someone has accessed your account without permission.

Only create an account if you are at least 18, or have permission and appropriate supervision from a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children's use of the Service.

We may take proportionate steps to protect accounts and the Service against misuse, including suspending access where reasonably necessary.

4. Wishlists and sharing

Wishlist owners may add gift descriptions, quantities, notes, images and links, and share access to their lists with others. A shared wishlist link and its four-digit PIN are intended for people you choose to invite. Anyone who has the correct link and PIN may be able to view the list, so please share them carefully.

Do not include confidential information, sensitive personal information, or material you do not have permission to share. A PIN helps limit casual access but should not be treated as a guarantee of absolute security.

Wishlist owners can manage their own gifts, but the Service is designed not to disclose other people's gift reservations to them. We cannot prevent someone from revealing a surprise outside the Service.

5. Gift reservations

Reserving a gift is not buying it. A reservation simply records your intention to obtain that gift, helping other buyers avoid duplication.

Buyers must sign in to reserve gifts. A buyer can view and release their own active reservations, and may reserve more than one unit where quantities allow. Reservations are linked to the buyer's account, not just their browser.

A reservation does not create a contract of sale, require a buyer to complete a purchase, or guarantee that a gift will be obtained. We do not collect purchase payments or verify that a reserved gift has been bought or delivered.

Gift availability displayed by the Service is based on wishlist quantities and active reservations, not on a retailer's stock. Please release a reservation if you no longer intend to obtain the gift, so others can consider it.

6. Retailers and purchases

Gift links may take you to independent retailers or other third-party websites. Any purchase is made directly with that retailer, under its own prices, terms, delivery, returns and refund arrangements. We are not the seller of those goods.

We do not control or guarantee third-party prices, product descriptions, stock, delivery dates, suitability or website availability. Check the retailer's details before ordering. The appearance of a retailer or product on a user-created wishlist does not mean we endorse it.

7. Affiliate links and advertising

Some links on My Christmas Wishlist may be affiliate links. If you follow an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, Think of Something Publishing Ltd may earn a commission from the retailer or affiliate network. You do not pay a separate fee to us for using such a link; the retailer sets the price you pay.

Not every gift or retailer is part of an affiliate arrangement. Users may add gifts that do not generate commission for us.

Where content or a link is affiliate advertising, we aim to identify it clearly where you encounter it, for example with an β€œAd” label and an explanation.

8. Your content

You remain responsible for gift details, images, links and other material you add. You confirm that you have the right to share that material and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

You give us a non-exclusive permission to store, reproduce and display that material as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service, including showing your shared wishlist to people with access. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable technical backups, legal obligations and records we must retain.

We own or license the website's design, branding and underlying software. You may use them only as needed to use the Service normally.

9. Acceptable use

Please use the Service lawfully and respectfully. Do not impersonate others, submit fraudulent or misleading material, upload harmful code, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with other users' accounts or reservations, or use the Service to harass people or distribute unlawful content.

We may remove unlawful or inappropriate content or restrict accounts where reasonably necessary, taking account of the circumstances and applicable law.

10. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance, security updates or events outside our control. We may improve or change features over time. Where a material change affects users, we will aim to give appropriate notice.

We recommend keeping your own record of important gift details if you need them independently of the website.

11. Responsibility and liability

We will use reasonable care and skill in providing the Service. We are not responsible for retailers' acts or omissions, for a buyer choosing not to complete a purchase, or for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where the law makes us responsible.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

Any limitation of our responsibility will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and having regard to what is fair and reasonable.

12. Closing accounts

You may stop using the Service at any time. To request account closure or deletion, contact us using the details below. We will explain any identity verification needed and what information must be retained for legal, security or operational reasons.

Closing an account may affect access to wishlists and reservations associated with it. We may suspend or close accounts where there is a serious breach of these terms, a security risk or a legal requirement, acting proportionately.

13. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and our Cookies Policy explains our use of cookies and similar technologies. These documents should reflect the tracking and affiliate services actually in use.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the Service, law or our business. The current version and its effective date will appear on this page. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users in advance where appropriate. Continued use after updated terms take effect indicates acceptance, where legally permitted.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except that mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring proceedings in another part of the UK may still apply where relevant. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer law.

If you have a concern, please contact us first so we have an opportunity to resolve it.
